Khristina Joy

Khristina was born into a non-musical family, although both her parents loved dancing, which probably accounts for Khristina's great sense of 'timing'.

She grew up in an environment of ballroom dancing classes and mid-day movies, being greatly influenced by the musical comedies of the 1930's and 1940's - as well as her Nanna's phonogram and wonderful 78 records. (I particular remember Dezi Arnez's 'You Can in Yucatan'! Ed.)

Her musical career began at 9 as a highland dancer (she still suffers from a passion for the bag-pipes), re-surfacing again at age 11, when she became an altar 'girl' and mastered the art of singing Mass in Latin.

After surviving puberty, Khristina decided to commence singing lessons, and within a few months, was released upon the unsuspecting public. Quickly she became the lead vocalist for rock bands hungry for her talent and vivacious personality.

Khristina has performed with Australia's best musicians, such as Julian Lee, Mark Isaacs, George Golla, Bob Barnard. Her singing style lends itself to both small ensembles and big bands.

She has appeared on television, recorded for ABC Radio several times and her compositions have received considerable acclaim.

Her warm style has made her popular with both audiences and peers alike.
